Ultra is pleased to announce that working in conjunction with BT, the National Resilience Extranet (NRE), a service developed for the Cabinet Office Civil Contingencies Secretariat and Communities and Local Government, now has 1,000 Users on the system from 209 Category 1 and 2 organisations. The NRE is a secure (accredited to Restricted) and resilient browser-based collaborative working tool for Category 1 and 2 responders, Government agencies and other key organisations within the UK resilience community. The NRE has been developed to support multi-agency collaboration between the resilience community, enabling the efficient and secure exchange of information during both routine planning and response to emergencies.
Now in Full Operating Capability (FOC), the number of NRE Users has grown quickly and has already proven to be a strategic civil resilience tool, having been used to support recent high profile exercises and incidents.
Further information on the NRE can be found on www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/nre or by contacting the Ultra NRE Service Desk on 01772 907 600.
In reaching 1,000 Users, Christina Scott, Director of the Cabinet Office Civil Contingencies Secretariat, commented that “the NRE’s ability to support the UK resilience community has been proven. Having1,000 Users on board the NRE will only strengthen the UK’s ability to plan for and respond to emergencies. We all look forward to welcoming more Users onto the NRE over the coming months”.
